Creative Curriculum focuses on children's development in four areas including: social/emotional, cognition, language, and physical development.  Children learn to trust, they build self-confidence and independence, as well as socialization skills.  Cognitively children learn to classify objects through sorting, cause and effect, begin to separate reality from fantasy, make predictions, and problem solve.  Language skills will be enhanced through reciting simple rhymes, participating in conversations, and describing their thoughts in words, as well as learning to apply their communication skills through reading and writing.  Physical development is enhance through gross and fine motor play.  Gross motor activities involve indoor and outdoor play such as, climbing, riding toys, and running.  These activities help them to gain muscle control as well as build fine motor coordination with increasing control.  Practice with scissors, paint brushes, and pencils when learning how to write letters and their names aide in the development of fine motor skills.

The centers curriculum is focused around the idea that each child develops differently and through different planned activities.  Through continual observation of the children and classrooms, teachers are able to assess the changing needs of the children and plan appropriate experiences.  The main goal of the center is to provide a positive learning environment which establishes a foundation to reinforce learning in later years.  Each child and family is treated as an individual to ensure the best possible care and education.
